Every Monday during school term, the lounge within the Resolven Miners Welfare plays host for the youth of the village. Children who are at secondary schooling age are welcomed to take part in a weekly quiz between the hours of 7pm and 9pm. In the past, these evenings have also been used to help the Resolven Community Events Group prepare for the yearly carnival event. It has allowed the charity to provide access for children to see what volunteering is all about. It has been a successful venture with some children even helping out with the children events that are organised and delivered within the building. These children have truly embraced the volunteering spirit and we are confident that it will continue into the future.
