Steve has lived in Resolven all his live, and currently resides in Neath Road with his wife and two girls. Steven spent most of his working life in TRW Cam Gears automotive factory, staring as a Mechanical engineering apprentice in 1976, then working as a toolmaker, Foreman, Area Manager, Engineering and Quality control functions before leaving the factory in 2004. Besides his engineering experience, Steve holds a Degree in Entrepreneurship, a Nebosh Diploma in Health & Safety, and a degree in Education (PGCE). Steve currently works as a “Recovery Practitioner” for the Mental Health Charity “Hafal”
Steve’s interests include Keeping fit, photography and music. In February 2016 Steve started learning the ukulele, and is one of the founding members of the ukulele band “The Indonesian Architects”
Over the past 4 years Steve has been part of the Resolven Community Events Group. This thriving community group is responsible for organising the Resolven Carnival and Resolven Christmas Fayre events every year. They also organise entertainment evenings for the residents that utilise the services and facilities Resolven has to offer.
In September 2017, Steve was one of many interested residents, looking at the future of the Resolven Miners Welfare building, and now holds a seat on the Board of Trustees for the Welfare Building.. Since Dec. 2017 he and the other trustees have been working on the necessary tasks that will cement the foundations that will enable the restoration of the welfare building to become a reality.
